Course Description: This course introduces the IFSB-31: Guiding Principles for Effective Supervision of Sharīʿah Governance Systems, focusing on how supervisors can assess, monitor, and strengthen Sharīʿah governance frameworks across Islamic financial institutions. Participants will learn how effective governance supports financial integrity, accountability, and systemic stability. Topics include supervisory expectations for Sharīʿah boards, internal controls, compliance and audit functions, and disclosure requirements. Through practical case studies and interactive discussions, the course explores global best practices, emerging supervisory approaches, and coordination between prudential and Sharīʿah governance oversight.Qualification: Participants should have a basic understanding of Islamic finance and experience in regulation, supervision, or institutional governance.This is a complimentary online course.
