The IFSB Announces Theme of the 10th Annual Summit

Kuala Lumpur, 10 December 2012 – The Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) is pleased to announce the theme of its 10th Annual Summit as “The Future of the Islamic Financial Services Industry: Resilience, Stability and Inclusive Growth”. The Summit will be held on 14 to 17 May 2013 at Sasana Kijang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Bank Negara Malaysia is kindly hosting this IFSB landmark event next year.

Among the topics that will be discussed during the Summit are:

  • Financial Regulatory Reforms: Global Overview
  • Cross-sectoral Approach to the Regulation of Islamic Finance and Market Development: Lessons Learnt
  • New Markets, New Frontiers – Prospects and Challenges
  • Islamic Finance: Innovation and Inclusive Growth
  • Panel Discussion on Lessons Drawn: Prospects for the Future

The IFSB is also celebrating its 10th year anniversary in 2013 since starting operations on 10 March 2003. The 10th Anniversary Dinner will be held on 16 May 2013 during the Summit, to commemorate the milestones and achievements of the international standard-setting organisation in the past decade. The dinner also aims to pay tribute to all the members of the IFSB for their significant contributions and support to the organisation and the Islamic financial services industry in general.

The tenth edition of the Summit aims to bring together experienced international chairpersons and speakers to discuss pertinent issues in the Islamic financial services industry attracting participants from all sectors of the financial services industry across the globe. Participants of the previous Summits have included key players of the global industry especially members of the IFSB from among regulatory and supervisory authorities, international inter-governmental organisations, distinguished thought leaders and market players.
