Kuala Lumpur, 27 April 2018 – The Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) is organising a Members and Industry Engagement Session (MIES) on 1 May 2018 in conjunction with the IFSB Annual Meetings 2018. The IFSB Annual Meetings 2018 will be held on 1-3 May 2018, hosted by the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK), a Full and Founding Member of the IFSB, as well as the Chairman of the IFSB for the year 2018.
The Opening Remarks for the Session will be delivered by Mr. Waleed M. Al-Awadhi, Executive Director of the Central Bank of Kuwait. This will be followed by two presentations on:
The MIES will conclude with an Interactive Session in which member organisations and industry stakeholders are encouraged to interact and exchange views with the IFSB Secretary-General and Senior Management team on the relevant/current issues.
The Session is expected to be attended by the Governors and heads of regulatory and supervisory authorities from various jurisdictions as well as the IFSB members attending the IFSB Annual Meetings. It is also open to the greater financial community in Kuwait, the GCC, and other regions around the globe.
The 3-day IFSB Annual Meetings 2018 will also include other events such as the 10th IFSB Public Lecture, the CBK-IFSB Conference on Islamic Finance: A Universal Value Proposition, and the 32nd Meeting of the IFSB Council (Closed Session) and the 16th IFSB General Assembly (Closed Session).
