IFSB-IILM joint workshop for Central Bank of Nigeria on Islamic Capital Markets

This online workshop is jointly organized between IFSB and the International Islamic Liquidity Management (IILM) for the Central Bank of Nigeria to discuss topics related to Islamic capital markets (ICM). The workshop, which will last for 4 days, will present introductions to Islamic finance and Islamic capital markets before discussing IFSB-19 (Guiding Principles on Disclosure Requirements for ICM Products (Sukuk and ICIS). The last day in the workshop will be conducted by IILM which will introduce the participants with examples of sukuk issued by IILM as a sharia-compliant liquidity management instrument along with the application of IILM asset structuring.

Regulatory and Supervisory Authorities (RSAs) Online Workshops

 The Regulatory and Supervisory Authorities (RSAs) Workshops is an annual event organized by IFSB and dedicated to all its RSAs Members. These workshops cover topics related to the three main Islamic financial sectors namely Islamic banking, Islamic capital market and Takaful (Islamic insurance). The workshops focus primarily on IFSB prudential and regulatory standards as an endeavor to create awareness regarding the best practices in the light of these standards. The first set of RSA workshops for this year will be covering Islamic capital market segment during 29-30 August 2022. Beside presenting an outlook for the Islamic capital markets, two IFSB standards will be discussed namely IFSB-26 (Islamic finance Regulation – Islamic financial infrastructure) and IFSB-19 (Disclosure requirements for Islamic capital market products). The second set of the RSA workshops will be conducted on 5-6 September 2022 for the Islamic banking segment where two IFSB standards will be presented. The first is IFSB-16 (Key elements in supervisory review process of IIFS), while the second standard will be about IFSB-22 (Disclosure to promote transparency and market discipline for IIFS). Takaful segment will be covered through IFSB-20 (Key elements in supervisory review process for takaful/retakaful) and IFSB-25 (Disclosure to promote transparency and market discipline for takaful/retakaful). Facilitating the implementation of the IFSB standards (FIS) workshop for the Financial Services Authority of Indonesia (OJK)

This workshop is conducted upon the request of the Financial Services Authority of Indonesia (OJK) to introduce participants with the latest IFSB standard related to capital adequacy which is IFSB-23 (Revised Capital Adequacy Standard for Institutions Offering Islamic Financial Services (IIFS)).
