    FIS workshop – Core Principles for Effective Islamic Deposit Insurance Systems

    This workshop is dedicated for the "Core Principles for Effective Islamic Deposit Insurance Systems" which is a mutual standard between IFSB and International Association of Deposit Insurance (IADI) issued in 2021. The standard covers topic related to Islamic deposit insurance such as public policy objectives, governance, relations with other safety net participants, cross-border issues, coverage, public awareness among other topics. It also addresses specificities of Islamic deposit insurance and key considerations for Investment Accounts.   The 1-day online workshop is open to all IFSB members for free as part of their membership benefits.     FIS workshop – IFSB-26: Core Principles for Islamic Finance Regulation (Financial Market Infrastructures)

    This workshop is dedicated for IFSB-26: Core Principles for Islamic Finance Regulation (Financial Market Infrastructures). The standard presents overview of the key risks in Financial Marker Infrastructure (FMI) along with core principles for aspects related to the regulation of FMI such as legal basis, governance and Shariah governance, risk management, collateral, money settlements, physical deliveries, efficiency and effectiveness, disclosure, among others.     FIS workshop – IFSB-23 (Revised Capital Adequacy Standard for IIFS)

    This workshop is dedicated for IFSB-23 which is the new capital adequacy standard issued in December 2021 as a revision to IFSB-15 issued in 2013.  The standard covers topics related to capital adequacy requirements and macroprudential measures, regulatory capital, principles for minimum capital requirements in line with Basel 3, among other topics.  The workshop is supposed to cover the following: 1- The rationale behind revising IFSB-15 on capital adequacy 2- Key changes in IFSB-23 compared to IFSB-15.     Facilitating the implementation of the IFSB standards (FIS) for The Bangko Sentral Ng Pilipinas

    This tailor-made workshop is dedicated for the Central Bank of Philippines (Bangko Sentral Ng Philipinas) to discuss several IFSB standards and other topics related to Islamic banking, Islamic capital markets, and takaful.     IFSB-IILM joint workshop for Central Bank of Nigeria on Islamic Capital Markets

    This online workshop is jointly organized between IFSB and the International Islamic Liquidity Management (IILM) for the Central Bank of Nigeria to discuss topics related to Islamic capital markets (ICM). The workshop, which will last for 4 days, will present introductions to Islamic finance and Islamic capital markets before discussing IFSB-19 (Guiding Principles on Disclosure Requirements for ICM Products (Sukuk and ICIS). The last day in the workshop will be conducted by IILM which will introduce the participants with examples of sukuk issued by IILM as a sharia-compliant liquidity management instrument along with the application of IILM asset structuring.

    Regulatory and Supervisory Authorities (RSAs) Online Workshops

     The Regulatory and Supervisory Authorities (RSAs) Workshops is an annual event organized by IFSB and dedicated to all its RSAs Members. These workshops cover topics related to the three main Islamic financial sectors namely Islamic banking, Islamic capital market and Takaful (Islamic insurance). The workshops focus primarily on IFSB prudential and regulatory standards as an endeavor to create awareness regarding the best practices in the light of these standards. The first set of RSA workshops for this year will be covering Islamic capital market segment during 29-30 August 2022. Beside presenting an outlook for the Islamic capital markets, two IFSB standards will be discussed namely IFSB-26 (Islamic finance Regulation – Islamic financial infrastructure) and IFSB-19 (Disclosure requirements for Islamic capital market products). The second set of the RSA workshops will be conducted on 5-6 September 2022 for the Islamic banking segment where two IFSB standards will be presented. The first is IFSB-16 (Key elements in supervisory review process of IIFS), while the second standard will be about IFSB-22 (Disclosure to promote transparency and market discipline for IIFS). Takaful segment will be covered through IFSB-20 (Key elements in supervisory review process for takaful/retakaful) and IFSB-25 (Disclosure to promote transparency and market discipline for takaful/retakaful).     Facilitating the implementation of the IFSB standards (FIS) workshop for the Financial Services Authority of Indonesia (OJK)

    This workshop is conducted upon the request of the Financial Services Authority of Indonesia (OJK) to introduce participants with the latest IFSB standard related to capital adequacy which is IFSB-23 (Revised Capital Adequacy Standard for Institutions Offering Islamic Financial Services (IIFS)). The 3-day workshop will discuss topics like capital adequacy and macroprudential measures, regulatory capital, principles for minimum capital requirements based on credit, market risk and operational risks, capital requirements for various Islamic financial contracts, among other aspects.
