Kuala Lumpur, 13 February 2013 – The Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) is organising a Public Hearing and Regional Workshops on IFSB Standards and Guiding Principles in Doha, Qatar on 17 February, and 18 – 20 February 2013, respectively. Both Public Hearing and Workshops are hosted by the Qatar Central Bank. The Governor of Qatar Central Bank, H.E. Sheikh Abdulla Saoud Al-Thani is the Chairman of the IFSB Council for 2013.
Regional Workshops on Liquidity Risk Management and Stress Testing
The Regional Workshops, which are catered for the banking sector, will focus on risk management issues in institutions offering Islamic financial services, with particular attention given to Liquidity Risk Management and Stress Testing arrangements for Islamic banks. They are tailored for both regulatory and supervisory authorities as well as the market players that are members of the IFSB from the GCC and MENA regions.

Public Hearing on Exposure Drafts 14 and 15
The IFSB is also pleased to invite the regional financial community, academics, students and members of the public to the 3rd Public Hearing on the Exposure Drafts 14 and 15 that will be held in conjunction with the Regional Workshops. The titles of the Exposure Drafts are:
ED-14: Standard on Risk Management for Takāful (Islamic Insurance) Undertakings and
ED-15: Standard on Revised Capital Adequacy for Institutions offering Islamic Financial Services (other than Takāful Institutions and Islamic Collective Investment Schemes).
The Public Hearing will be held as follows:

The Public Consultation period for the two documents is 1 November 2012 to 31 March 2013.
