Visa Information


Visas are required for entry into Oman, except for citizens of GCC countries. All visitors must hold a passport valid for a minimum of six (6) months from the date of arrival. Nationals of 103 eligible countries may enter Oman without a prior tourist visa for a stay of up to fourteen (14) days. All other travellers are required to apply for an e-Visa online at least four (4) days prior to travel.

Travelling to Oman by land is commonly undertaken via road crossings from neighbouring Gulf countries, particularly the United Arab Emirates. Land travel is a convenient option for visitors entering by private vehicle, bus, or organised transport services.

Land Border Crossings: Major entry points include Al Buraimi, Hatta-Al Wajajah, and Khatmat Malaha, which are regularly used by travellers arriving from the UAE.

Sea travel to Oman is mainly conducted via international cruise lines calling at Port Sultan Qaboos in Muscat or the Port of Salalah. These cruises typically operate along the Arabian Peninsula, with itineraries that may include ports in the UAE or India.

Ports of Entry: International vessels commonly dock at Port Sultan Qaboos (Muscat) and the Port of Salalah.

Cruise Travel: Many visitors arrive aboard major cruise operators, such as MSC Cruises, which frequently include Muscat on routes departing from the UAE.
