The IFSB Successfully Connected its Annual Meetings 2020

6 June 2020, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – The Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) is pleased to announce that the IFSB Annual Meetings 2020: 36^th Meeting of the Council and the 18^thGeneral Assembly was successfully organised on 4 June 2020. In light of the current global situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the IFSB and its members had decided to adopt a virtual format. This was the first ever IFSB Annual Meetings and General Assembly that were fully conducted online. The 36^th Meeting of the Council and the 18^th General Assembly were hosted by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), chaired by H.E. Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus, Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia and Chairperson of the IFSB for 2020.

The 36^th Council and 18^th General Assembly Virtual Meetings was attended by Central Bank Governors, Executive Presidents, Chairmen, Managing Directors, Vice Presidents and Deputy Governors of regulatory and supervisory authorities, senior representatives from among the Council, Full, Associate and Observer members of the IFSB. Today, the IFSB have 187 member institutions from 57 jurisdictions that comprised of 99 market players, 79 Regulatory and Supervisory Authorities, and 9 international organisations including the Islamic Development Bank.

The IFSB would like to thank all its Members for attending and participating in the online IFSB Annual Meetings 2020: 36^th Meeting of the Council and 18^th General Assembly.
