SUMMARY:Roundtable on Regulating Institutions Offering Islamic Financial Services (IIFS): Risk Management Lessons Learned from the Crisis
DESCRIPTION:This IFSB Roundtable is hosted by the Central Bank of Bahrain and supported by Deloitte IFKC. Many financial sector and regulatory practices have contributed to the recent financial crisis\, but foremost among these were important failures in risk management practices and processes\, as well as weaknesses in many parts of the financial services sector. This Roundtable aims to shed light on the current practices of risk management in the institutions offering Islamic financial services (IIFS) and how regulatory and supervisory authorities can benefit in reshaping the regulation for the Islamic financial services industry (IFSI). The Roundtable aims to benefit professionals involved in risk management specifically in the Islamic banking sector.
